Fruits Pt. 2
This sermon, the second installment in the Fruit series, today we contrasts the fruit of the Spirit—joy—with two works of the flesh—idolatry and orgies—from Galatians 5. Joy, unlike fleeting happiness, is constant, God-given, and rooted in the Holy Spirit’s presence. It remains even in trials, bringing hope and life because it comes from knowing God’s grace and salvation. Idolatry, on the other hand, is placing anything—whether it's money, self, relationships, or false gods—above God, leading us away from His love and purpose. Orgies represent the pursuit of temporary, fleshly pleasure, which can never satisfy the deep need only God can fill. This message challenges believers to examine which fruit they are producing: eternal joy from God or temporary, empty substitutes from the flesh.
