Eldership Part 2

Elder Rick Gonzales continues the teaching on biblical eldership, opening with a devotional on gratitude and a quick review of the four aspects of eldership covered the week before. He then walks through the character qualifications for elders in Titus 1 and 1 Timothy 3: integrity above reproach, faithfulness, meekness (strength under control), hospitality, avoiding a quarrelsome spirit and the love of money, managing a family well, humility, and a good witness outside the walls of the church. Personal stories include Solid Rock being called "a hospital for the broken" and the role of his wife Sandra in leading their home. The message ends with an invitation for the church family to prayerfully submit names for eldership, a heartfelt word to Pastor Matt, and an extended time of prayer. His challenge is that these qualities are worth pursuing for every follower of Christ, not just those who serve as elders.
