Fruits Pt. 3

Aug 17, 2025    Matthew Mletzko

In Week 3 of the Fruit series, the focus is on the fruit of the Spirit—peace—and its contrast with the works of the flesh: strife, jealousy, and envy (Galatians 5:19–23). True peace is not found in control or circumstances but in trusting God, who provides a peace the world cannot give (Isaiah 26:3; John 14:27; John 16:33). This peace is eternal, rooted in Christ’s victory, and allows believers to rest in God’s presence even in times of chaos.

In contrast, strife, jealousy, and envy divide people and destroy relationships, families, and churches. Scripture warns against these poisonous fruits that come from the flesh (Proverbs 10:12; 1 Corinthians 3:3; James 3:16). Instead of competing or coveting, Christians are called to love one another, extend grace, and rejoice in others’ blessings.

The message challenges us to examine our lives: are we producing the Spirit’s peace or the flesh’s strife, jealousy, and envy? When we walk with Christ, His love, joy, and peace replace the destructive fruits of the flesh, and by this, the world will know we are His disciples (John 13:34–35).
