Galatians 5:16–26 Pt. 8

Jun 22, 2025    Matthew Mletzko

In this message, we explore the contrast between living by the Spirit and living by the flesh. Pastor explains that the "flesh" refers not to our physical bodies but to our sinful, selfish desires. Through Christ, believers are called to live in freedom, not under the Law or sin. The Holy Spirit transforms us, making us a new creation and empowering us to produce godly fruit.

Paul outlines two kinds of fruit: the works of the flesh (such as sexual immorality, jealousy, anger, and divisions) and the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control). By examining our lives, we can see which influence—flesh or Spirit—is dominating.

Christians are called to crucify the flesh and walk in step with the Spirit, producing fruit that reflects Christ’s nature. The message ends with key questions for reflection: Have you accepted Christ? What fruit are you producing? And how can you grow more in the Spirit’s fruit?
